One of the components of the Children & Youth Bill of Rights is to engage with youth in city decision making via youth liaison(s).

Our Youth City Liaisons connect young people with local government in Santa Cruz City and Capitola City. They amplify youth voices, engage in mentorship, and lead projects like the State of the Youth report, ensuring youth perspectives shape local decision-making.
LEADERS UNITE 4 YOUTH
The first annual Leaders Unite 4 Youth Workshop brought together youth and jurisdictional representatives to collaborate on policy and decision-making, creating a platform for meaningful dialogue and shared learning.

This year, the Youth Liaison will partner with the Santa Cruz City Youth Liaison to co-create the workshop, working with County-Wide Jurisdictional Representatives to identify key discussion topics and design engaging activities alongside the Youth Action Network Coordinator.
